Android PayPal App - SMS verification with every app launch?!

Hi all,

just got a new Pixel 9 Pro with Android 16, and switching from my Android 10 device.

Everything works fine, however with every launch of the PayPal app (after fingerprint recognition) I'm getting an 2FA SMS verification request.

Why? Shouldn't be my Smartphone a trusted device?

Especially as PayPal wants me to use NFC payment with the app. But I need multiple minutes to even access it. Impossible.

Tried everything (reinstall, remove passkey, remove fingerprint, reenable, etc.).
Nothing works. With my Android 10 device it's working without 2FA when starting the app.

Any recommendations?
