DB15 in 5.56 was my first ever AR. Recently bought a BCM blem upper for an Aero lower I've had sitting around. Looking for advice on optics / outfitting each rifle for an intended purpose.

I've had a DB15 16" in 5.56 for a while, and honestly it's never had an issue. Maybe I got lucky, since DB gets shat on a bunch here. On it, I have a Primary Arms SLX 1-6x24mm LPVO as well as a Streamlight 88066 ProTac. I also added a swivel stud mlok at the end of the handguard in the 6 position so I can mount my Magpul bipod that I share with my Henry Supreme (also in 5.56).

I finally just pulled the trigger on a blem BCM upper (5.56) to go with an aero complete lower I've had sitting around. I am thinking of doing a holosun 510c with a 3x magnifier. My logic is that my DB15 I can use to shoot distance. My indoor ranges top out at 25 yards but I am about to become a member at an outdoor range that maxes out at 600 yards. Then my Aero/BCM becomes 0-100 yards / close quarters. I was also thinking just going with a red dot and no magnification.

My guns are range toys. I am not military or LE. I don't do weekend long tactical courses. I go to the range twice a month and send probably 300-400 rounds downrange each month. Other than that these guns are my SHTF guns. For home defense I have my Beretta 1301 with federal flitecontrol 00 buck. But I've been liking my AR so much lately I may make it the primary HD weapon.

Anyways, just looking to gut check my logic before burning more money.
