Roblox is promoting a Ragdoll Engine copy in The Hatch event, and the dev is claiming full copyright
Roblox’s official The Hatch event is promoting a game that’s nearly identical to the original Ragdoll Engine. This version, made by Build2Inspire (aka Byteonix), claims full copyright:
Meanwhile, the original creator, mr_beanGuy, is terminated and the real Ragdoll Engine (renamed dum ragdoll engine) is gone. Roblox isn’t crediting the original at all and is pushing the copy as if it's the real deal.
Yes, Roblox's terms let them use UGC freely:
But this isn’t just a legal issue. It’s about whether Roblox respects the creators who helped shape the platform. Promoting a copy with someone else’s copyright while erasing the original sets a dangerous precedent.
If this feels wrong to you, say something. This affects more than one game.
Note: This isn’t about harassing the developer. (please do not do that btw!) The focus here is on Roblox’s decisions. I might be wrong, but this deserves attention!
