A couple years with Witness guns and I got the itch for a 1911 in 10mm. But I wanted hi-cap, and IIRC the RIA Rock HC was not yet available in 10mm. This was in 2010 or so. I lucked into a used and abused Para P16-40 that had lived a life in practical shooting. When I got the gun it was largely stock with the plastic trigger, plastic magazine catch, GI grip safety, arched mainspring housing and a HUGE Dawson magwell.

I replaced the trigger and magazine catch, fit a high-ride beavertail safety, a flat mainspring housing and ditched the magwell. I had the barrel reamed to 10mm by Mars guns. I replaced the barrel bushing and installed a 24 lb recoil spring. I also polished out all the dings, dents and ouchies from it's life in competition. I soda blasted the frame, and sand blasted the slide with 80 grit and then coated it with Cerakote H series mixed for a matte black.

I run it with a flush fit Mec Gar 15 round mag in the gun and a 17 round triple K that has a +4 magazine extension in a side pocket on my pants. The grip tape comes and goes, but I definitely shoot a bit better with it on the gun.

This is probably the last 10mm I would sell as I poured my heart and soul into the gun. This photo is from this morning. The cerakote has held up really well for 14 years, about 7 or 8 of which it has been a daily driver. I have shot over 10K rounds through this gun since the rebuild and it still feels brand new.
