Guy used Japanese Maple to hoist equipment out of my basement. How to heal/preserve from here?

Rehabbing my childhood home and the guy we paid to remove a fridge, washer, and dryer from our basement used one of our Japanese Maples to hoist it all up ~4ft of stairs to ground level today. He told me he used the tree to hoist, I pointed out the damage, and he said that damage is actually from when he removed our furnace a few months ago.

Coincidentally, yesterday I asked an arborist who was on site to remove a pecan tree about the health of this Japanese Maple. We were about 200 ft away but he said it was a strange color.

We won’t take action against this guy. But how does the damage look, and what can we do to heal/preserve the tree moving forward?
