Husbands cooking and cleaning was looked down upon. Is it still the case?

A man who helped with household chores, that are traditionally a woman's job usually would not get the respect he deserves. Rather it was the other way, a handy helpful husband is treated as a man not man enough. There also used to be a lot of cartoon jokes in the magazines that ridiculed men who cook and clean. Times have changed, what is the situation in your household? If you are a wife, do you like your husband to be helpful or do you prefer your man to not enter the kitchen?
