Should I give up?

After feeling horrible for years and not having anyone listen, I saw an ad for one of the many medications for RA/PsA. One of them described me exactly so I went to my primary care and asked her to look at all of my symptoms as a whole, not just each area by itself. She listened, checked me over, and agreed it was time for labs. My ANA was positive and RNP elevated. She referred me to rheumatology. Unfortunately I could not get a hold of them (found out later their phones were messed up). My wrist pain primarily was getting worse and worse so thankfully I have good insurance and was able to take myself to an ortho. Thankfully she was super cool and allowed me to describe ALL of my joint pain, not just my wrists. Her initial thought was AS and she also referred me to rheumatology. I explained my primary care did too but I couldn't get ahold of the place so she referred me somewhere else and I got in almost immediately. But I absolutely hate this doctor. He had no bedside manner. He didn't seem to listen when I talked. It seemed like everything I said either annoyed him or confused him. He didn't even notate the majority of what I said. Regardless, his initial notes mentioned possibly seronegative spondylosis and PsA. He sent me on my way with a Meloxicam prescription. He redid labs and did some xrays. ALL of the labs came back 100% fine. Even the ones that were positive/elevated before came back fine. At the follow up yesterday, he was like "I'm not surprised, they often come back fine the next time." Okay, well something is CLEARLY STILL WRONG! But of course, he ended it by saying he doesn't need to see me. If I wanted PT or medications, go to my primary care. I had mentioned MRIs because my understanding is xrays won't show it. He said based on what he has, MRIs are not needed and to ask my primary care. He mentioned insurance likely won't approve it without PT first.

Well his notes just uploaded to my primary care's portal. I was looking them over and according to the xrays, I actually do have mild degeneration in my neck as well as arthritis (cervical spondylitis is what it says). This office is literally called "Arthritis Specialists of ________." So if I have arthritis in my neck, why would he not see/treat me for that?

Well, luckily, in between these visits, the initial place I was referred to called me to schedule. I have that appointment tomorrow. I'm nervous, anxious, scared. They know they are a "second opinion" and they know I didn't like the initial doctor I saw. I will of course keep this appointment and go and try to plead my case as much as possible. I just don't want to be in pain like this. It is crazy. My neck, my hips, elbows, wrists, knees, ankles... all of them are continuing to get worse. My "gut health" is absolute trash despite seeing multiple types of healthcare providers and doing their diets and supplements and crap. I do my best to stay active while having a desk job. I signed up at a new local gym that has a pool but it doesn't open for another month. I changed my diet many years ago but it still isn't perfect. I've been trying to manage that better too.

I know it takes people years to get a diagnosis/help/treatment. I was actually impressed how soon I was getting in places. But now I am completely discouraged. I know I need to wait to see what tomorrow's visit says but I'm just so scared I'll get sent away again with no answers and continued pain.
