Moving to another gender clinic waiting list?

Is it possible to transfer to another clinics waiting list? I am currently with the NRGDS and if I remember, when being referred there was an option to essentially chose which waiting list I joined.

If I have that correct, is this a worthwhile thing to do? I would much rather travel if it means I can join an area with a shorter waiting list.
