Help Choosing Between Cannondale Treadwell Neo 2 and Trek Verve+ 3
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to decide between two used e-bikes and would love your input. I’m looking for a comfortable commuter and casual weekend ride, mostly pavement with occasional light paths. Here are the two options:
Option 1: 2024 Cannondale Treadwell Neo 2
- 250W Hyena rear hub motor
- Brand new battery (only ~10 charge cycles)
- About 2,000 miles on the bike
- Seller says it was in a crash (rear wheel replaced, minor frame scuffs)
- Asking $750 as-is, or $899 with a shop tune-up
Option 2: 2020 Trek Verve+ 3
- 250W Bosch Active Line Plus mid-drive motor
- Bosch PowerTube 500 battery (original, holds full charge)
- About 900 miles total
- Excellent condition, no crashes
- Seller asking $950
I’m torn between the lighter, newer Treadwell with a fresh battery but crash history vs. the older Verve+ 3 with a Bosch mid-drive system, great condition, and very low mileage.
Any advice on which is the better long-term investment or what I should be watching out for? Comfort, reliability, and ease of service are my top priorities.
Thanks in advance!
