Building a dividend portfolio using margin
I think I already know the general opinion about dividends around here, especially amongst Bogleheads, but I have to ask anyway... ๐
The YouTube algorithm recently start showing me videos about these folks who are building somewhat modest dividend portfolios (< $200K) and using margin for leverage to invest more. They are buying very high yield, but also high ER, funds such as MTSY, QDTE, XDTE, etc.
Despite the fact that I'm a very boring low-cost/total-market index investor, this concept is a bit intriguing to me in my retirement.
Any thought or opinions from other RE folks who use such a strategy to generate their retirement paycheck?
