Late client insists on being waxed
So for context, I am a small business owner that owns two side-by-side beauty salons. One is a hair salon and the other specializes in body and facial waxing. Recently we had a client who was scheduled for a Brazilian wax appointment. She called and said she was running about two minutes behind. My receptionist said that’s no problem, but if it gets to the eight minute mark, we will need to reschedule your appointment or offer you a basic bikini wax. We are an appointment based business so when clients are running late for their services, it makes us late the rest of the day for all of our other clients. At the 10 minute mark, this client walked through the door and said I’m ready for my wax. My receptionist, who is so polite and kind, said ma’am, as I explained to you on the phone we can either offer you a basic bikini wax now or we can reschedule you for another time. This woman proceeds to completely lose her mind. She starts shouting in the lobby “somebody better get out here and wax my shit now”. At that point, my receptionist came next-door and got me. I walked in and said ma’am I understand you were late for your appointment today, what can I help you with? She proceeds to tell me that all of my employees are rude assholes. And continues to shout that she needs to get her wax done. I said ma’am, you will not be getting anything waxed today. I told her that it is unacceptable that she was speaking to my employees that way, and she was no longer welcome in my businesses. She started shouting at me, saying you are shit and your businesses are too. Then I noticed she had a huge chest tattoo that said don’t mess with Texas with a gun on it. It felt vaguely menacing. At that point, I said ma’am, I need you to turn around and walk out of my businesses and do not come back. As she left, she was still shouting, but the poor young woman that she was with turned around and mouthed “I’m so sorry” to all of us. This woman then went and sat in her big gold Cadillac in front of my businesses for the next 45 minutes. She of course went onto Yelp and wrote a one star review. My poor employees were really shaken up but I said we will never have to deal with her again. Then the next week she literally walked back into the studio and begged the same receptionist to take her back as a client. As if ma’am.
