When you smell food, your brain triggers the release of digestive enzymes and hormones like ghrelin and leptin that regulate hunger and fullness. This "cephalic phase" of digestion gets your body ready to process food more efficiently. The aroma also activates your parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest mode), which helps you eat more mindfully instead of rushing through meals. Some research suggests people who take time to smell their food report feeling fuller faster and consuming 10-15% fewer calories overall .It's basically like giving your brain a preview of what's coming, so it can better signal when you've had enough.[\#weightloss](https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/weightloss?__eep__=6&__cft__[0]=AZUq-gfYEtyPsxsYMbCYYeGpuZs5gee265aQrJaa7rG3X03jslFGk8bbxM2J7TmOf4MX0CPalxdXpyJwvd0uPcbMgyyQNXlkZGf6eSMOTBtbmdObYMVl__i55cciH9f0me-GnP9vizic0hcNlVgGJz40b0O1RPKR9WKhoTZncaWNhedy0guoTUb-osCT_hW_TlfIXh2HCnlyZanu0aDQ5oEj&__tn__=*NK-R) [\#health](https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/health?__eep__=6&__cft__[0]=AZUq-gfYEtyPsxsYMbCYYeGpuZs5gee265aQrJaa7rG3X03jslFGk8bbxM2J7TmOf4MX0CPalxdXpyJwvd0uPcbMgyyQNXlkZGf6eSMOTBtbmdObYMVl__i55cciH9f0me-GnP9vizic0hcNlVgGJz40b0O1RPKR9WKhoTZncaWNhedy0guoTUb-osCT_hW_TlfIXh2HCnlyZanu0aDQ5oEj&__tn__=*NK-R) [\#wellness](https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/wellness?__eep__=6&__cft__[0]=AZUq-gfYEtyPsxsYMbCYYeGpuZs5gee265aQrJaa7rG3X03jslFGk8bbxM2J7TmOf4MX0CPalxdXpyJwvd0uPcbMgyyQNXlkZGf6eSMOTBtbmdObYMVl__i55cciH9f0me-GnP9vizic0hcNlVgGJz40b0O1RPKR9WKhoTZncaWNhedy0guoTUb-osCT_hW_TlfIXh2HCnlyZanu0aDQ5oEj&__tn__=*NK-R)
