One spicy moment after another: Hugh B. Cave’s installment of Spicy Adventure Stories
So this particular novel has been recommended to me several times and, so, eventually, I would get a copy of it. And then, after it was recommended that I read it, and then I had it when I received the copy of it, and at that point when I had it that is when I then read it. That is now, the current time, which means the time that I read it is in the past.
As Terry came into the cabin he heard the words “We just want a lady’s company, Marie….”
As you can see, the spiciness of the “Spicy Adventure Story” is spicy. It literally is spicy in the most literal spicy way, and fast paced, and also I would say intense and spicy. But what is unique is that the spiciness is like, they take the spiciness and then raise it up to 100%, I mean I’m keepin in one hun, if I ain’t got this book I got nu’n.
It feels like eating a spicy hot chili while riding on a horse with no saddle, but the horse has a lameness affecting its hind limb, and so it keeps bumping you up and down and neighing and you not only feel the heat in your mouth but your butt gets sore and you kind of get annoyed by the neighing. Just relentlessly spicy is a good description of it, which is how I would describe it, and so I am describing it to you that way. This is a description of that thing that I am describing. And this review is a spicy review that describes how the book could be described to one if one were to ask to have a book described to them.
This book was also referenced in a Three Stooges sketch, but I’m not sure if the photos of Moe are actually part of the original story or not.
I just loved it! So much going on with spicy action and the usual spice and hotness! So I’m putting it up there with “There can’t be two O’Haras,” “Forty Fathoms,” and “Blocakde.”
