Fishing gear to buy as gift for boyfriends birthday

I know not a lot about fishing, but he loves doing it, he’s been wanting a new rod for a while now and idk what to get him, mainly because idk what I’m looking for!

He’s a left handed reel

We catch mainly pond fish, blue gill/bass/catfish/etc

But I know he’s been looking for at other things aswell. He likes the color green (mostly any kind of green) but any color will work.

Any rods/reels/line/bait suggestions are welcome too!
