Pokémon Reseller got robbed for cards and money, and beat up - NYC / Brooklyn area

Hey everyone, I’m not sure if this is the right flair, so apologies for wrong flair. Using this as a heads up:

I have a mutual friend who is a big time reseller and was visiting a few places in the north east.

When leaving a Walmart with what he describes as “a cart full of cards”, he got his cart stolen by 3 people, and when he tried to fight back they hit him over the head with a heavy shopping bag knocking him over, then kicked him so hard he broke 3 ribs. He claims they yelled “fuck you scalper” while running off.

I’ll add an edit with a link once I see a public police report / article, for now just wanted to give people a heads up. Unsure if this is targeting people like him, or just all cards.

DISCLAIMER: I am not claiming to be a journalist, this is all what I heard from his story. Evidence I have been provided is his Walmart receipt, and pics of him in hospital.
