Any info why Konami chose this studio to make the game?

Silent Hill f (2025)

I’m genuinely hopeful that this game will turn out well, and what we’ve seen so far is promising.

However, I do find it a bit puzzling that Konami chose to entrust a Silent Hill game set in Japan to a Taiwanese studio. Having lived in Japan for 15 years and having visited Taiwan on business, I know firsthand how different the two countries are culturally, with relatively little overlap in certain respects.

Beyond that, it’s frankly surprising they would select a studio with this particular track record. Given that Konami seems serious about reviving Silent Hill in a major way—and this being the first new mainline entry in so many years—I would have expected them to minimize risk by choosing a developer with more proven experience in delivering high-quality, narrative-driven horror games.

Of course, it’s not unheard of for a smaller or primarily support-focused studio to exceed expectations when given the right funding and creative freedom to make an original title. Still, the choice seems unusual to me.

I’d be very interested to know whether there were specific reasons or strategic considerations behind selecting this studio for such an important project.
