IT interviews in England

My husband has been speaking with recruiters for software engineering positions in England - specifically York and Woking, so far.

Does anyone have tips/tricks/insights for making yourself an appealing candidate in these areas?

His base salary in the US is $210,000 (MCOL area). While money is great, we would be happy with median income for whatever area the job is located. In York, this looked like around £50,000.

He’s great at his job and I feel confident he can build a life wherever we end up, we just need to get through the door.
