Two Post Cantilever Pergola Design
I am looking to build an outdoor BBQ shade, and I need it the shade to span 15ft and it will cantilever out 3ft with an 8ft height.
Posts: 6x6x8 (submerged 2ft into 18" diameter concrete footer.
Beam: doubled up 2x12 that will run 15ft from post to post.
Knee bracing: 4x6 timbers cut at 45-degree angle to support rafters on ends.
Rafters: 2x6's running across the 15ft span and notched into beam.
Looking for advice on if I missed anything or if there are any issues or concerns with how I am going about the design?
I live in central CA also, zone 9b.
