Why are Dutch youth extremely antagonizing and disrespectful?

I am a Dutch native myself so the question may sound odd as maybe ''I should know'', but I have been outside The Netherlands most of the last year and upon returning I remembered the Dutch culture where youths try their hardest to appear ''cool'' and ''hard'' by making fun of others. This is most prominent when using international chat services like OmeTV. The most disrespectful attacks would almost always happen with Dutch youths (calling someone you have just met a ''faggot'' or worse, making other childish jokes and insults). Of course this happens with any country but it seems that the Dutch youth especially have a handful of it. It just seems Dutch people are extremely stand-offish to strangers and even downright rude and disrespectful.
