House trade?

Japan has always held a special place in my heart, and I'd love to buy a house in Kyoto or somewhere nearby. I was wondering—has anyone ever heard of a situation where a Japanese homeowner wanted to move to Mexico and was open to trading properties?

I'm based in Mexico and have a home here, so I thought it might be a win-win exchange if the stars aligned. I'm curious if this kind of arrangement is even possible, legally or logistically.

Has anyone tried something like this, or does anyone know if it's been done?
