The Lion Is Dead

You needed a father when you were a kid. You never got that.

Now, you need to be a father for your kids.

You dont need a role model you need to be a role model

A child should never feel bad for voicing boundaries to their parents.

A parent should never be so blind and emotional that they do not respect their child's boundaries

Are you upset? How do you think your kid feels? Are you making them uneasy? Are they wearing your anger and stress?

Do you punish them for putting on the mask they saw you cower behind as they developed?

Do you help them grow so they learn they never needed the mask? Or do you retreat behind the disguise, succumbing to its shelter because of your time wrestling with lions?

Those feelings are stemming from seeds that were planted in broken gardens. The plants grow ill as you curse the grounds you sow instead of enriching your foundation.

Expel all of your energy in the pursuit of revenge over the pests that undermine your entire journey. Is there satisfaction yet? Are you draining resources to damn those who wronged you? Or are you making sure your soil is warm, and appreciated? Does your soil vibrate with hubris that makes Eden green with envy?

Does love pour into the soil, breathing purpose and tranquility, Ensuring every microbe a promised land of incubation and ample growth?

Is the harvest bountiful? Or have you damned yourself to famine?

Have you spent too long wrestling the lion that you never noticed the hyenas circling?

How far into the journey did you forget the destination? What kept you walking?

Was it the fantasy of standing atop a mountain, looking down on the world that tried to keep you below sea level?

Did you get so caught up in the acts of defiance that you didn't realize the lion isn't fighting back? and the hyenas have all retreated. Now its just you on this battlefield. A soldier without a cause. Ready to die in war.

The fight is long over. You are the only casualty. Put down your shield. Put down your sword. The lion is dead. The mountain is waiting.
