Is Simmons and BU worth it ?

Hi everyone, I’m currently applying to Simmons and BU for their full-time MSW programs, and I have some questions about the cost and if it’s really worth it long-term.

I don’t have any student debt from undergrad, but I do have around $8K in credit card debt. Since both Simmons and BU are private and pretty expensive, I’m trying to understand what I might be getting myself into.

If you attended either school (or considered them seriously), could you share: How much financial aid/scholarships did you receive? What was your total cost per year or overall? Are you using loans to cover it? How much debt are you graduating with? If you’re working now—was the degree worth it? How much are you making? Would you choose the same program again?

I’m passionate about social work and willing to make sacrifices, but I’m trying to be realistic about the financial side. I have two young kids, so I need to be extra mindful about taking on too much debt. Any insights would help a lot!
