My credit score dropped by nearly 60 points when my student loans were put on freeze after the Biden admin's forgiveness attempts were blocked. I have always made my payments on time, so I think it's a mistake. Is it too late to file a dispute?
I found out about this after logging into credit karma for the first time in a few months, noticed my credit score dropped from about 756 to 690. The reasoning I could find from reports was that the loans went into a freeze due to the attempted loan forgiveness program and lawsuit from last year. Before that happened, I made all my minimum payments or more on time. The loans still exist, I'm currently not making payments while the freeze is in place so I can focus on knocking out PLUS loans, so I definitely think such a drastic drop is a mistake given that I can't come across any similar scenarios online. Would it be too late to file a dispute? Does this seem like a valid scenario to file a dispute?
