I (24f) dumped my boyfriend (24m) for cheating
Advice? Thoughts?
I caught my boyfriend of two years cheating on me and immediately broke up with him. He cried and tried to win me back, but I refused. I had never felt so hurt and betrayed in my entire life. I blocked him on all social media and haven’t had any contact with him since. I told him to never speak to me again. This was six months ago.
I never contacted him, but I didn’t delete/block his number right after I dumped him on the off chance he would send an apology message. I didn’t want to be with him or talk to him, but I was heartbroken and thought I deserved a better apology at the same time. I know a bit contradictory but that’s just feelings for you. Months went by and I forgot I never blocked his number. I was just trying my best to heal. (I got a new job and lost 20 pounds 🥳) I’m over him and I don’t feel any love for him anymore. There was so much disrespect at the end of our relationship that it really just tainted every good memory I had with him. But I still struggle at times with just being betrayed by someone I thought I could trust. I’m over him, not fully over the principle of it if that makes sense.
For the past two months, I’ve been getting occasional phone calls from “No Caller ID” and at first I didn’t really think much about. I am alwayyyys getting calls after donating blood so I just assumed it was more of those calls. However, when I started to pay attention to them, I realized that they were coming in between 10pm-midnight. Always pretty late. I thought surely this can’t be a company calling me. Out of curiosity, I picked up the phone one night the next time they called. I didn’t say anything, just waited for the other person on the line to say something. After a few seconds, I heard my ex say hello. I didn’t respond and just let the line stay silent until he hung up. I was just kinda shocked really. He did me so dirty, I really didn’t think he’d still be thinking about me or be trying to call me 6 months later.
Last night I got a missed call but it was from my ex’s actual phone number, not “No caller ID.” I didn’t answer. He called two more times after that but then used “No caller ID” I let all 3 calls go to voicemail and blocked his number.
I don’t want anything to do with him. Ever. Hasn’t he done enough already? What does he want? And what’s the point of using No caller ID? To see if I had blocked his number yet?
This was my first relationship and my first break up so I guess I was just looking for any advice or feedback people had. Why is he doing this? Have you been through a similar situation?
Any tips for not carrying these trust issues into future relationships? Any breakup tips at all? Honestly I do feel like I handled the situation really well. I put myself first and I’m really proud of that. But I know this will follow me into future relationships and I don’t want to wrongfully project onto others
