My mom is a divorcee
My mom is a divorcee. It was a pathetic marriage. It ended when we were kids. Since then, (more like since our birth) we were raised by mom singlehandedly. She is a teacher. I really want her to have a person who is not like our father. Because of the fact that she was divorced in a young age and no one is there to stand for her, our relatives are so mean to us. Even if she is a teacher who have around 20 of service, and is more educated than them, they have shaded her and insulted in our own home. You know what, everyone says a woman alone is powerful, independent etc etc. yeah that's true. But the society doesn't see that way. A woman alone is seen as vulnerable and is exploited many ways. But I feel like she needs some sort of support. The kind of support that I'm unable to provide, the kind of support you moms get from your dads. I might be wrong, but I feel like a woman who's a divorcee find it really hard to live in this world. Cuz we're exploited everywhere, at home, at a hospital, at workplace, in the public. I can say there's is a differential treatment to both men and women, and I can give you instances when people treated us bad when we were alone and was with a person who's a man. I want to see her getting married, not to the sake of something you're thinking rn, but she's been sailing this boat alone. Raised two kids and struggling. She needs some support. I have no idea how this is going to happen, or may be if this would happen.
Don't take this personally, I just shared what I saw in my life. Not everyone's life is the same. You can definitely point out a single mother and call her independent and empowering. My mom is definitely independent and empowering, who's the sole breadwinner and the home maker. Raising two kids alone with her own money is definitely a real big deal. But the society doesn't see her that way. They see us vulnerable. Also we don't have a huge family. Njangalk njangale ullu
