AITA for blocking my friend and cutting her off with no “warning”

I (17F) was part of a small friend group let’s call them Jenna, Holly, and Claire. A couple days ago, I had a falling out with another girl outside the group over a small misunderstanding. It was our first-ever argument, and I’ve always been the type to consider her feelings. I thought maybe I was the bad friend, but when I asked others, most disagreed that I was a bad friend . That left me confused because I really didn’t understand why the situation turned into a big thing.

Instead of talking it out, she and a few people around her just blocked and unadded me. I never got a chance to apologize or explain myself. And somehow, people who weren’t even involved in the issue took sides.

Jenna, my closest friend in the group, said she didn’t want to pick sides but her behavior told a different story. She invited me to a community event and asked me to come early so we could go to Target. I picked her up around 2PM and we did what she asked. After Target, we went back to her house, and around 5PM, Sophie (the girl who blocked me) called and told Jenna she needed help and would pick up her and Holly.

Instead of telling me the truth or being upfront, Jenna just turned to me and said, “Can you just pick up Claire?” No explanation. No apology. I’d been driving and waiting around for hours, and it felt like I was suddenly no longer included. It hurt.

At the event, the energy was tense and awkward. It was clear I was being iced out by the others. I stayed on the side with Claire and kept to myself. Later, I found out that Jenna had privately texted Claire, telling her to “stick with her and Holly because people will not talk to her if she was with me” and I confronted her about it that very moment and she just acted confused. Claire showed me and it was shady like why go out of your way to text something like that instead of just saying it out loud? It didn’t sit right.

The crazy part is, Claire and I only recently became friends, and even she picked up on how weird it was. She stayed by my side the whole time and told me not to let them ruin my night. That meant a lot to me.

Then later, Holly told me I should’ve gone up to the group and said something but that made no sense. They’re the ones who blocked me, so why would I walk up and try to talk like nothing happened? I was just trying to keep the atmosphere calm, not cause more tension. But the whole thing already felt off, so why would I put myself through that?

Then yesterday afternoon, I got added to a random FaceTime call with my best friend Barbie, Holly. And we were role playing as a lawyer and defendant Holly said, “Jenna apologizes” but I hadn’t heard anything directly from Jenna. Then instead of talking about the actual issue, Jenna brought up a completely unrelated situation about how me and her younger sister were play-arguing once and she thought I was being disrespectful. I was just over it, so I apologized even though I didn’t feel like it was that serious.

I eventually realized I was constantly having to defend how I felt, even to Jenna someone I’d supported and been loyal to for so long. But when I needed even a little bit of that loyalty back, it wasn’t there. She wasn’t being neutral she was being shady and two-faced, and I was tired of pretending it didn’t hurt.

So I didn’t fight. I didn’t go off. I just quietly blocked Jenna, stopped sharing my location, and removed myself from the situation.

I’ve had enough of explaining myself to people who clearly don’t care how I feel. I never asked for much just honesty, empathy, and some loyalty back. I’m not perfect, but I know I gave my all as a friend
