Hello all! First post here. I’ve been attempting to successfully grow bioluminescent Panellus stipticus for 3 years now! While I’ve gotten close to success, I’ve had a very tough time as this project has been my introduction to mycology, and P. stipticus is quite difficult. I’m making this post to ask about my fruiting setup.

The room is closed. Unfortunately, there are no windows able to be opened, and the ground is carpet. I’ve been told that the fruiting temp for this is 20°C/68°F. To reach this temp, I have an AC unit in this room, positioned away from the SGFC. The room setup is on pic 2, and shows that there are obstructions which I’m thinking may prevent the AC from sucking out moisture as fast from the SGFC. Pic 1 shows that the SGFC is not directly above carpet, and is also elevated, as well as its surroundings.

Pics 3 and 4 show the jars themselves- supplemented sawdust substrate is used, with painters tape around the sides to prevent side pinning. The mycelium itself appears to have consolidated as much as it can, and I have noticed metabolites beginning to appear. I know from experience that if I stall on fruiting these any longer, the mycelium will wear out its nutrients and dry out, unable to grow anything.

What is missing/wrong with my setup? What can I improve? Is this current setup feasible? What should I change/add? I’m hoping that I will be able to fruit these jars before they expire! Any advice would be greatly appreciated and please ask any questions!
