AITA should I 44F throw away 6 good years with my 35M boyfriend?

Is it time to throw in the towel? Advice please! Long post alert! My bf (35m) and I (44f) have been together 7 years. Our relationship started out a bit rocky - he admitted to cheating with a coworker but told me about it. We went to therapy and we are doing very well. He is supportive, loving, reassuring, constantly talks about getting married and our future. However, after 7 years he still hasn't proposed. I told him a year ago, I am not comfortable purchasing a home with him without further commitment. We went ring shopping a few months back, but still nothing. I am ready to start house shopping. Should I shop for a home for myself and move on or continue dating but not living together? Or should I throw in the towel? I am not okay shopping for houses with him and combining assets with no commitment. Everything I hear and read says if he hasn't asked yet - move on as 7 years is too long and if he wanted to, he would have. I wanted to post in relationship advice, but for some reason, reddit wouldn't allow and told me to post here.
