What are the implications of this?

I’m in the dining industry/ food server and want to know if this makes sense. I’ve talked to a couple of coworkers and they don’t know the legality of it but… if someone pays cash (“keep the change”) and I run it on my credit card for the (incentive,cash back, credit score) since I’ll be taking the money and paying it off anyways, is there a downside?
