Lower Quality Coins

Question

Do you guys think there would be a market for it if one of these smaller mints started selling 16- or 18-kt coins? Tbh I would buy 16kt coins if it meant I could get 5 nice quarter-sized pieces for the price of an oz (i have no idea if the math works out and I won’t bother to check). I know we all want investment grade, but the test of what’s investment is what there’s a market for, and I think larger 16kt coins could have a pretty decent market. Mainly asking because I’m wondering if all these cash for gold businesses (many of them small time dealers that might frequent this sub) could just skip the refinement process, put some custom stamps on lower quality coins, and then sell them for a little premium above spot. I think it would work. What do yall think?
