This evening, my partner and I excitedly trekked over to the community centre for drop in badminton night. We were turned away as spots had already filled up. No biggie, it was nice weather so we decided to play in an open-ish area on the south side of the park.

After a particularly enthusiastic smack, our birdie got stuck in a tree.

My partner thought it was a very good idea to axe throw our raquette at the branch... only for his raquette to get stuck next to it.

One thing led to another and at one point we had both raquettes and birdie stuck in the tree.

We eventually worked them loose, thanks to a few kind Torontonians:

Shout out to the guy who stopped to help us find big sticks to throw at the tree, you even offered to throw your phone (we quickly declined because we were 0 for 2 LOL)

Shout out to the nice couple with the dog, not only did you come over with great advice ("You should go to the centre or tennis courts and ask to borrow a tennis ball!") but also provided words of encouragement in our embarrassed state. You became our hero when you returned with a chunky log which, after a few winded heaves on our end, did the trick.

Also, thanks to the community centre staff for letting us borrow a tennis ball - we ended up not needed it, but I needed the laugh.

Truly Toronto the Good! :)

Thank you, kind Trinity Bellwoods strangers!
