Any tips for someone trying to grow things in a small space?
I’ve been on a mission to turn my tiny apartment balcony into a “green sanctuary,” and let me tell you—it’s been a learning curve. First, I overwatered my basil (RIP little guy). Then I bought a succulent that looked tough but promptly shriveled up when I moved it to a sunnier spot. Turns out, plants are way pickier than they look!
But last month, I tried again. I started with a snake plant (everyone said it’s “impossible to kill”) and a pothos cutting from a friend. I set a reminder on my phone to check soil moisture once a week, and I moved them away from the AC vent that was drying them out. Now, the snake plant has grown two new leaves, and the pothos is trailing over the edge of the railing. It’s small, but it feels like a victory.
What’s your plant journey been like? Are you a seasoned pro with a jungle of greenery, or are you just starting out (and maybe killing a few along the way)? Any tips for someone trying to grow things in a small space? Let’s swap stories—successes, failures, and everything in between.
