DROS Category for Pistol Grip Only Shotgun - "Other" not available?

Questions FFL holders: while visiting a local FFL I tried to do paperwork for a Mossberg 590 Cruiser (Pistol Grip Only Shotgun) with the intent of filing an ATF Form 1 to make an AOW down the line.

I was told by the FFL this can only be DROSed as a Long Gun/Shotgun and could not be DROSed as an "Other" because there is no drop down for "Other" on DES

Federally, a PGO Shotgun is considered an Other and should be noted as such on the Federal 4473.

My questions are:

• Are they correct there is no "Other" category on DES? (I vaguely recall this was an issue with the Franklin Title 1 debacle)
• Can I still file for an AOW if it's CA DROSed as a shotgun, but never had a stock? Would the Federal 4473 need to list as "other" effectively mismatching the state DROS?
