Having a baby in the middle of the summer sucks (imo)
My first was born at the end of August. Everyone told me how bad they felt for me, how it was just the worst, having to go through the whole summer pregnant. But by the time I was ready to leave the house with my baby, fall was upon us. I got to wear sweaters, button up shirts with nursing tanks, and leggings and just had to buy a couple new pairs of jeans.
I just had my second baby 2 weeks ago and I have no idea what to wear. None of my normal summer clothes fit me, except my flowy dresses, none of which are nursing friendly. But I don’t want to spend a bunch of money on new clothes for one season (staying hopeful that I will be closer to my pre pregnancy weight next summer.) We’ve been in a heatwave, so taking my newborn outside has been out of the question most days. It’s just too hot, and obviously she can’t wear sunscreen yet. I’m still bleeding so I can’t put on a bathing suit and hop into the baby pool with my older daughter, who would really love that. I’m not ready to take newborn baby to anything indoors since she isn’t vaccinated yet, so we are just stuck inside at home.
I just can’t wait for it to cool down outside, I am so looking forward to cool, mosquito-free evening walks with my girls.
