Ocean Edge Resort- soccer tournament

My family will be staying at Ocean Edge Resort Columbus Day weekend (October 11-13) for a soccer tournament. Most of the families stay at Ocean Edge. We have never been to Ocean Edge or been part of traveling with a team and would like to make the most of both experiences! We are a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids ages 5-9), what lodging at the resort to do you recommend? Looks like there are Ocean Edge condos on Airbnb and VRBO, are those on the resort or just near by? If we stay there, will we feel far away from the rest of the team?
