How to abstain from hookups while looking for a serious relationship and stay sane?

Not sure if this type of post is allowed, but I’m curious if anyone is struggling with the problem as me.

27(M) struggling with dating for something serious. I’ve been single now for 5 years, had my share of a few casual flings and hookups, but quit that about 3 years ago. I have my personal reasons why I choose not to do hookups, but that’s not the point of this post.

Going a little over 3 years without sex along with my other struggles dating has completely killed my self esteem, and has left me beyond frustrated. At this point I don’t know what to do, I’m starting to feel like I’m never going to have sex again jn my life.

I guess I’m just looking for advice from others who have experienced similar situations to mine. Or just to hear from people who are currently going through something similar.
