Anyone remember Xiami?

Discussion

So in the late 2010s, there was this Chinese streaming app called Xiami, that essentially was an attempt at a Chinese Spotify. Really nothing major about it, except that it has pirated music, and had lots of music spotify didn't have.

In fact, it had a lot of Visual Kei on there, and the Visual Kei was 100% taken from forum sites like Monochrone Heaven (a defunct Visual Kei forum which had a piracy section where people would share CD rips) or something, because whenever someone uploaded something to Monochrome Heaven, there was a chance their rip got uploaded to Xiami.

I kinda miss Xiami because it actually was a streaming service with music that I liked. Like, I mostly listen to Visual Kei, and the vast majority of Visual Kei will never, ever, ever be on streaming services. Especially the old school stuff. I mainly use Soulseek and some download servers on Discord to get my Visual Kei, but Xiami was a convenient way to keep up with new releases and find similar bands. Like, it's algorithm was actually good; whenever I'd play Kiryu, it'd pull up similar bands like Memento Mori or Kagrra. Whenever I try to use Spotify, it thinks that if I listen to Dir en Grey, that I also apparently want to listen to Morning Musume and SMAP lol
