Is this just a canned response without actually watching the clip nor knowing the rules?
Someone passed below the double yellow on the backstretch of Daytona, shoved themselves back onto the track and inevitably caused a huge wreck on the last lap. I submitted a protest with a clip showing everything because they ruined everyone's race by blatantly breaking the double line rule and then subsequently wrecking the field. iRacing said that is not a rule.....
Is this steward just clueless? Did they just see that I said they passed on the apron in my description and send a canned response saying that's ok even though there is a specific rule against this at superspeedways? They mentioned the frontstretch when the incident was on the backstretch, so mentioning that is irrelevant and idk why they did so. Also, they did not return to the track without causing contact as they shoved someone up the track which turned the person above them and wrecked everyone so I'm lost as to what this steward is talking about.
Also, apparently if you pass on the apron at phoenix in new turns 1-2, like they do in real life, that's illegal for some reason? Or does iRacing arbitrarily not include that as "high banked" even though they reference NASCAR? Does below the dotted white at Darlington count as "apron" so half the passes at that track are illegal? Slide jobs that use the apron at Loudon are used often. They make no sense.
