hamster very bored

I’ve had my male syrian hamster for about a year now and he is very clearly restless. running up and down the cage scratching at it. His cage is 4 feet long and two feet wide. He has plenty of space. He has lots of hides and chews and food and water. I don’t know what else to do for him. He seems uninterested in running on his wheel. Toy suggestions? Or anything else I can do for him?
