What’s the Smartest Strategy for Buying USB Cables?

I’ve gone through so many USB cables over the years, and I’m starting to think none of them are built to last. Some expensive ones didn’t hold up any better than the cheap ones, and I’ve had random no-name cables outlive well-known brands.

It’s gotten to the point where I’m not sure what to look for anymore. I'm curious how other people deal with this. Do you just accept they’re going to fail eventually, or have you found a smarter way to choose cables that actually last?
