I think I’m a fan of a dead genre, and it’s kinda depressing.

This is a recommendation request. But it’s also just me venting out of passion. Because I do still love the medium. I’ve just lost motivation to keep up lately. Because it feels like the kind of stories I’m looking for aren’t being made anymore.

I’m talking about stuff like Black Lagoon, Gunslinger Girl, and Samurai Champloo. Stories where people shoot first and ask questions never. Where the "enemy" is just whoever gets in the way. Where killers are cool, stylish, and decisive, no guilt trips, no internal battles about being a monster. Just people doing what they’re good at: violence.

I miss that Dirty Harry, Death Wish, Godfather, Bonnie & Clyde energy. Cold action. Brutality. The kind of stories where if you’re too slow on the draw, you’re dead and forgotten by the next panel. I don’t need every series to be grimdark. Hell, I’d take something happy-go-lucky as long as they’re still painting the walls with someone’s brain matter.

I’m just tired of the “I must never kill” or “I can’t give in to the monster” tropes. Like come on, give into the monster bro, go crazy. It would be way more entertaining. I get that these types of stories resonate with some people, and I’m not saying they’re bad. But they’ve become monotonous. It’s everywhere. And it’s not what I want.

I’m looking for manga that bring that raw, unapologetic edge back. Something that reminds me why I fell in love with this medium in the first place. Preferably new or ongoing, but I’m open to completed series too. I just want something that’ll hit again. Make me feel something again.

Appreciate any recs. I would be forever grateful.

Also damn on a side note I really wish the girls from lycoris recoil used lethal guns and actually killed who they fought against. I just think it would be so dope.
