Internet in the hostel

I'm joining IMU Kolkata Campus this month and I had this doubt regarding wifi in the hostel, I do know phones and other electronics are not allowed in the classrooms but do we get wifi in the hostel rooms ? Also, is it necessary to bring laptop while joining ? I visited the campus last month and the warden said new junior hostel building is being constructed right now, will it be for us or upcoming batch ?
