Should I transfer out of CS to meat?

I have been a CSTL for about a year now. I learned almost everything for my role and even started doing things like scheduling and the WOR. Took my ROI and high passed. I'm pretty happy with how things are going so far, but I overheard that it takes longer and it's more competitive to move up in CS compared to other departments. Recently we had a FT meatcutter retire, so the position is available. My meat manager was willing to transfer me as a meat cutter instead of apprentice, so i dont lose my pay. Should I take this opportunity for the chance of a faster promotion? I don't dislike working in CS but I don't want to be stuck as an assistant for 5 years like my previous ACSM.
