App nearly completely freezing phone

This app has always been pretty laggy, I am sure it's part ads and part poor coding. Regardless, recently (as in the last couple weeks) it has randomly started all-but freezing the phone's touchscreen. I effectively can only use the home button, back button, and menu button on the touch screen, but then can't swipe or select anything, so essentially the phone is 100% frozen. I go to restart the phone, I cannot press "restart" after holding the two side buttons for a couple seconds. I have to hold them down, force a full phone shut down, then reboot.

What is going on with this app??

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, everything else works fine. Genuinely thinking of switching to a different app.
