Hardwood floors/Golden Retriever

In the market for a new vacuum. The entire house is either hardwood or vinyl. We’ve had the Shark Rocket Pet Pro for probably over 5 years now and it’s slowly dying/battery life shortening.

Would love to jump on some deals right now. Budget? 500-800 or so or more for the right thing.

The thing that gets me is the Shark cordless did pretty good in my house but the move to canister seems sensible. I have 3 levels to my home and so I do hate the idea of carrying it up and down stairs.

Dyson V8 or V15 was looking promising but I found some of their old ball vacuums to be cheaply made when I used a friends. Miele cordless (HX2) don’t seem to live up to their name from reviews I’ve read.

I’d be happy to move to a canister such as a c1 or c3 which appear to have the best reviews but scared I’m going to hate it over my regular cordless.
