Is it ok to set up a temporary altar just to ask a deity for help?

For a while I was thinking if it was possible to do this or if it’s disrespectful. Like for example, if I don’t worship Dionysus but I want a little more luck to help me land a specific roll I’ve been wanting in my theater class, can I put up a little altar for him, give him a few offerings, and then pray to him and ask for help and then take down the altar after a while or is that considered disrespectful? Please let me know your opinion cause I haven’t been able to find much about this subject so your insight would be appreciated
