Used Iphone with Error Code - Need Info Before Selling for Parts

I have an Iphone with an error code 4013, and it only turns on to show this error message or flashing apple icon.. I want to keep this out of the landfill etc. so that's why I decided to sell it as a parts phone- but I just wanted to ask if anyone knows if someone does buy it for parts, can they get to my info on there somehow? It no longer works so I can't like factory reset it. Is there a step I should go through before selling it? Thank you
