Post breakup affairs?

Its been 3 months since i broke up with my long term gf (reasonable issues). Now i met this new women everything going well, but i dont feel making a connection on my end nor asking her out properly since she was just broken up with her ex 1.5 weeks ago as for today. She thinks about her ex, might reconcile and stf. I sent her a last msg telling figure things out on her end and i wont be contacting her anymore much. for that reasons and also not to be that "guy" who just there as the supprotive guy after a breakup to either start a rebound for someone else or not to get a half as breakup again to add to my own original breakup. This could make her think im not there for her and also seperately not contactint might screw the vibe whithin. Basically not wanting to ruin a potential affair andd dosent want to get hurt.. What should i do more or next??
