Western Sydney Woodworking? Carpentry? Soldering? Classes? Suggestions?

I am looking for something social for my partner to do. He loves to learn new skills and I was thinking of maybe gifting him some courses. He has been kind of down since recovering from cancer, which isn't as uncommon as you might think, but I think he could really benefit from some kind of structured socialisation that could lead to more relaxed socialisation. God, life in your 30s can be so weird.

But all the cool, fun classes I see are waaay over in trendy places like Marrickville and while it is technically feasible we are over in Penrith. He has a car, but getting over to Marrickville can be like going across country.

Does anyone have any suggestions for classes or activities for a big old nerd who I love so, so much and I think just needs a little bit of fun and direction back in his life?
