Looking for insights from current BC Transit drivers – Should I apply?
Hey everyone!
I'm currently an Uber driver here in Victoria and have been seriously considering applying to become a Transit Operator with BC Transit. I genuinely enjoy driving and interacting with people, and the idea of a more stable, long-term role is very appealing.
Before I take the leap, I’d love to hear from any current or former BC Transit drivers in the area. What’s the day-to-day like? How’s the work culture, training, scheduling, management, etc.? Any major pros or cons you wish you'd known before starting?
I’m also curious about how the work-life balance is and how routes/shifts are assigned, especially for new hires.
Thanks in advance for any insight! Feel free to DM me if you’re more comfortable sharing privately. 🙏
